This Sunday we lit the pink joy candle and learned about the Levitical Shepherds tasked to share the joyful Good News of Jesus’ birth. In contrast to the silly, worldly joy of Buddy the Elf, we can have true joy because Jesus came. Just like the pink joy candle, different from the rest, joy should mark us as disciples of Jesus. We are tasked with letting the joy of Jesus change us and sharing that joy with others.
Now it’s time for a joyful update. The Lord has blessed us with an answer to prayer. The Administrative Board voted to hire Sebastian Thomas as our Worship Leader! He is not only a great vocalist, pianist, guitarist, flutist, and saxophone player, but most importantly is a Holy Spirit-filled young man who will lead us into the throne room through passionate worship. His first Sunday will be January 5, 2025 (Epiphany Sunday). We hope to introduce him soon on our website and social media pages.
As the Christmas season continues, let us continue to be about the mission of reviving people with the Living Word, making disciples, and spreading Scriptural holiness across Austin and beyond. The Lord is moving and working in our midst. Let’s take the joy he has given us into the city until everyone knows Jesus! Like the pink candle, like us shine Christ’s light into the darkness.
Blessings,
