This Sunday was an amazing worship service. We concluded the Christmas season with Epiphany, celebrated Holy Communion, and welcomed our new worship leader Sebastian Thomas and his wife Shanon. We could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit and there was so much joy in the House of the Lord.
This week I also introduced Question #1 of the Global Methodist Church Catechism: “Do you believe in God?” Our answer at Austin Global Methodist Church is: “Yes. I believe in God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.” The belief in God is essential to our faith and our church. We believe in God!
Why do we believe in God? The whole of Scripture demonstrates the existence and nature of God. This week, I encourage you to make the following verses a part of your devotional life to increase your knowledge of why we believe in God: Genesis 1:1-31, Joshua 2:11, Psalms 8:3-8, Isaiah 42:5, I Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6, Hebrews 1:5, and Revelation 4:11. Take a passage or two a day and meditate on God the Father.
Join us this Thursday at 8:30PM at Concordia University Chapel for Refuge Worship. Bring snacks and be ready to fellowship, worship, and learn from the Concordia University students. Let’s show the love of Jesus to these young people we share a space with.
As the new year begins, fix your eyes on Jesus. This year will be a year of numerical and spiritual growth. I cannot wait to see what God will do at Austin Global Methodist Church and in his Kingdom in 2025!
Blessings,
